Rafting
|
When
a group of friends, a little crazy for adventure, were released
down the waters in Atuel River on some truck cameras put
together with strings, nobody thought that some years later,
José (Tico) Russo, a visionary, would bring the first rafting
raft starting what today is one of the most thrilling sports
that can be practiced in the Atuel Canyon. Rafting means
to descend quick rivers in rubber rafts; of course that
it is not enough, because it is necessary the appropriate
equipment and an expert guide in sailing. San Rafael, and
in particular Atuel River in the Atuel Canyon, has all these
elements and the rafting practice is safe and thrilling.
The difficulty in this sport is from 2 to 3 (in a scale
of 0 to 6), this makes it capable for the whole family.
Given the geologic characteristic of the River course of
the journeys varies in distances and in time. The shortest
is 6 km., an average 10 km., and the longest 16 km., the
time goes from 40 minutes to 2 hours. For the bravest people
there are other alternatives, as rafting degree 4 in Atuel
River, but in El Sosneado area, or voyages of three days
along 100 km., with everything included. You only need to
decide and to be main character of your own adventure. |

to teach the basic thing in sailing techniques and they
go with the learner for further security in the first
descents. |
