Route 188 is the shortest road between Buenos Aires
City and the Andes Mountain range. You can access
to this road through National Route 7 in Junín
the connection (Buenos Aires Province). After travelling
900 km. you arrives to General Alvear, Mendoza province.
From here and along National Route 143 there are only
90 km. to San Rafael.
From the south of the country National Route 151 unites
Neuquén City of with Santa Isabel in La Pampa
province, and from there you arrive to San Rafael
along National Route 143.
Coming from the north of Argentina is simple, it is
only necessary to arrive to Mendoza City of, to find
the South Access and to take the National Route 40
that joins with Route 143 in Pareditas. It takes us
directly to San Rafael. (in this itinerary we cross
the Uco Valley and the Tunuyán City).
From Córdoba and San Luis provinces it is necessary
to find the National Ruote 146 that comes off from
National Route 7 in front of San Luis City. Traveling
273 km. by this road you will arrive to San Rafael.
If you are from Buenos Aires and don't come by car
there are two possibilities: the daily flight that
covers the itinerary between Aeroparque Jorge Newbery
and the local Airport, 7 km. from downtown; or to
choose one of the four bus companies that leaving
Retiro Bus Station, and going by Liniers, and other
points of the itinerary by National Route 7, arrives
to San Rafael in around thirteen hours. They make
daily trips and the companies offer different services
on board.
